Miam Miam: My First Blog Post

Welcome to my first blog post. I will be going to restaurants, and later will be DUPING 1 or 2 of their dishes if I like them.

My father and I were deciding where to go for my first blog post, and after discussing a few options, we decided to go to Miam Miam.

We have been there before for my birthday, so I knew what the place was about: French Japanese fusion. And I love fusion food because they incorporate the best part of the two types of food. When we come here, we usually order the same dishes, so this time we decided to order other items from the menu.

FOOD

To start off with, we had Crispy Calamari Rings.

They were crunchy on the outside, but the tartar sauce softened it a little. The squid on the inside was also good. It was not too chewy, and it had a nice texture. The candied lemon (aka a lemon that is pan-fried) enhanced the flavor.

For mains, we had Riz Au Curry and the restaurant’s specialty, Miam Miam Spaghetti.

I really enjoyed the Riz-Au Curry. Combining the curry, egg, and other ingredients, the dish was creamy but the rice was at a right texture. The overall dish was smooth and the broccoli was crisp. However, the sausages were not that great, too soft. Perhaps it cooked too long? The curry was a bit spicy, but enough for me to handle as I am not a big fan of spicy food.

The Miam Miam Spaghetti was worthy of being called their signature dish. The al dente pasta firm with a really good bite and it went well with the bacon. I could taste the butter sauce, but not much of the shoyu. When I tore the onsen egg, the dish became creamier, the egg yolk wrapped itself around the pasta, which made it more flavorful.

Then for dessert, we decided to have a Truffle Chocolate Pancake. It was really fluffy, and the soft texture was perfect. Combined with the chocolate cream and the powdered sugar and chocolate sauce, the taste was like you were in chocolate heaven. There were even golden chocolate crumbles. They were crunchy and perfect. There was also a chocolate truffle on top that was divine!

Ambiance

The restaurant was set up perfectly for CNY. The waiters were friendly and funny too. The service was as efficient as possible, as the food takes time to make.

Verdict

The food had a good quality taste. Few mistakes they could improve on like how they cook the sausage and how to make the shoyu taste in the spaghetti. The ambiance was excellent. I give this restaurant 4.5/5 stars! It was not 5 because of the sausage in the curry and shoyu taste was missing in the pasta. But I just love this place! It seems like a lot of other people do too! We will be DUPING their Miam Miam Spaghetti soon. Watch out for a new article recipe!
